Granola

Ingredients

  • 3 cups rolled oats
  • 1/3 cup sunflower seeds
  • 1/3 cup finely chopped almonds
  • 1/3 cup finely chopped cashews
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 2 ½ tbsp brown sugar
  • 6 tbsp honey
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp vanilla essence
  • 2/3 cup raisins (or dried fruit of choice)

Directions

  1. Set oven to 170C.
  2. Line 2 baking sheets with grease-proof paper
  3. Mix the oats, sunflower seeds, almonds, cashews together
  4. Place the salt, sugar, honey, oil, cinnamon and vanilla in a saucepan over medium heat and bring to a boil. Pour the syrup over the dry ingredients and mix well.
  5. Spread the mix over the baking trays and then bake until toasted and crisp stirring after 10 minutes. It should take about 15 – 20 minutes.
  6. Add the raisins/dried fruit.
  7. Store in an airtight container.
